Amid the increasing challenges to stop wildlife snaring in protected areas, along with concerns over bushmeat consumption, the Ministry of Environment (MoE) and its partner NGOs have officially launched the “Zero Snare Campaign Phase II” in Siem Reap province.
The second phase of the ‘Zero-Snare’ Campaign was launched yesterday in Kampong Speu province. The campaign aims to educate, disseminate and help citizens participate actively in the prevention of wildlife trapping and trafficking in the Central Cardamom Mountains.
The Ministry of Environment and partner conservation NGOs spent less than $100,000 on the six-month Zero Snare Phase I campaign that reached three million people.
