Concerted actions and tangible achievements over the past 10 years of the Mekong-Japan Cooperation have significantly contributed to the transformation of the Mekong region to be one of the global growth centers.
There are several Mekong cooperation mechanisms between the lower Mekong countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam) with China, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, and the US.
This programme was planned to promote the “New Tokyo Strategy 2015 for Mekong-Japan Cooperation (MJC2015)” adopted on July 4 2015 at the seventh Mekong-Japan summit.
