Vitorino: this is for the Prime Minister

Cambodia coach Leonardo Vitorino dedicated the win to the Prime Minister Hun Sen.
“I’d like to dedicate this win to the Prime Minister, “ he said, “because even after our heavy defeat against Jordan he backed us. And I’d also like to thank the Federation for their belief.
“Today we won the match because of the players. We lost last week’s friendly [against Indonesia] and everyone was talking but we stayed quiet.
“I and the Federation know it is a slow process to improve Cambodian football but we are building for 2023 [SEA Games] and we will get there. Our project is 2023.”
Wrapping his arm around man-of-the-match, goalkeeper Sou Yaty, an emotional Vitorino said this was just the beginning.
“This man is the reason today. I am very happy for all the players working hard over the internationals and listening in training – this ensured our win. So now we can celebrate.”
Afghanistan’s German coach Otto Pfister refused to blame his keeper. “Luck was on Cambodia’s side today,”he said.
