The Kandal Provincial Court has charged a man with receiving stolen goods, mostly cars and motorbikes, after he was arrested in neighboring Takeo province.
Kandal military police reported yesterday that Sam Seap, 51, was detained after the separate arrest last week of Kim Sok Samnang over drug crimes and theft.
Mr. Sok Samnang confessed that he stole motor vehicles many times and sold them to Mr. Seap, who lived in Takeo province’s Kvav commune.
Kandal military police cooperated with Takeo military police in arresting Mr. Seap, who is accused of illegally buying and selling vehicles without identification numbers.
Mr. Seap is said to have confessed that he had run this business for two years. All vehicles he bought were obtained by fraud or theft and had no documents.
Military police seized 101 number plates for motorbikes, two number plates for cars, 20 bullets, tools to remove vehicle serial numbers, 48 registration cards, 13 ID cards, three driving licenses and spare parts.
Mr. Seap has been detained at the provincial prison.
