1,000 Packages of Meth Seized by Police

A group of six suspected drug traffickers – four men and two women – were arrested on Friday night according to police. Lieutenant Colonel Pann Sopheap, a Deputy Commander at Phnom Penh Municipal Military Police, said, “They were arrested during a raid of their rental house in Sangkat Chak Angre Leu on Friday’s night,” adding that roughly 1,000 small packages of methamphetamine were seized at the time, along with various drug paraphernalia.The six suspects are currently detained at the military police headquarters. They will be sent to municipal court for further questioning this morning. The names of the suspects have not been released at this time. 
 
Nearly 20 Arrested in Infamous Drug Haven
 
Colonel  Buon Sam Ath, Deputy Chief of Phnom Penh Municipal Police, said that 18 suspects were arrested on Saturday afternoon during the raid of an infamous village called “Phumi Trapaing Chhouk” in Khan Sen Sok’s Sangkat Teuk Thla,  in Phnom Penh. 50 small packages of methamphetamine were seized in that raid, while the 18 suspects are being held at Sen Sok District Police Station. They will be sent to municipal court for questioning today.
