NagaWorld brings Christmas joy to children

Khmer Times No Comments Share:

In the spirit of Christmas and New Year festivities, NagaWorld organised visits on Christmas Day to the House of Family in Phnom Penh’s Boeung Tompun commune and People Improvement organisation in Stung Meanchey commune to deliver school uniforms and learning materials to a total of 200 children from four different charity homes.

Children from the Cambodia Organisation for Living and Temporary Care and Stellar Child Care Organisation were also in attendance.

The ‘Smile From Hearts’ goodwill initiative, supported by NagaWorld’s Kind Hearts volunteers, aims to provide equal education opportunities to underprivileged Cambodian children in support of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia and global education goal of ‘Education for All, All for Education’.

Executive Director of NagaWorld, Mr Pern Chen said, “Christmas is not only a time for celebration with family and friends, but it is also a time to remember those less fortunate than ourselves and to give something back to the community.

“So we organised this ‘Smile From Hearts’ initiative with the help of our employees to provide the deserving children with essential school items including uniforms, bags, and stationery sets.”

He further added, “We hope our small contribution goes a long way for these children. We send our best wishes for them to strive for a better education, so they can have a bright future and contribute positively towards the country’s continued economic growth.

“It is also a part of NagaWorld’s ongoing commitment to assist in the nation building of Cambodia since our inception in 1995.”

House of Family project officer, Mrs Ven Saosetha, said, “We are absolutely delighted to have staff members of NagaWorld come to visit us on Christmas Day. It made our children really excited and grateful to receive such wonderful gifts, which will help them with their studies.

“We would like to thank NagaWorld staff and management for all these kind efforts and contributions to all the children.”

NagaWorld Kind Hearts have conducted regular charity initiatives benefitting thousands of underprivileged students in Cambodia, including their recent ‘Back To School Programme’.

Other programmes include helping to raise awareness of environmental concerns, such as the year-long ‘Clean School Competition’ launched on 1 December involving 30 selected public secondary schools.
