Phnom Penh Municipal Court tried a woman on Monday for allegedly accusing Prime Minister Hun Sen and his family of being behind the murder of prominent political analyst Kem Ley.
Hin Vansreypov, 37, was arrested in July after she discussed the murder on Facebook under the name Heng Leakhena on the anniversary of Mr Ley’s death.
“Hun Sen’s family are the killers. Each member of his family has the blood of Kem Ley on their hands,” she said in footage shot during a visit to the slain analyst’s home town in Takeo province.
Ms Vansreypov was tried yesterday. Judge Y Thavrak said the verdict would be announced on January 11.
Mr Ley was shot at a gas station on July 10, 2016. He was a strong critic of the Prime Minister and his family.
