Motorbike thieves arrested

Seven suspected motorbike thieves were arrested Wednesday afternoon in Phnom Penh.

Yim Sarann, Por Senchey district police chief, identified the suspects as Huon Vichetr, 26, Phal Char, 17, Vann Soknith, 17, Eng Lyhoang, 17, Bun Chealinu, 17, Pheap Makara, 17, and Ly Sokun Phanha, 17.

“They were active thieves who often stole motorbikes and property from villagers during the night in the city,” he said. “They were arrested after we raided their rented houses on the outskirts of the city.”

Mr Sarann said that after their arrests, police seized 12 stolen motorbikes.

The suspects are due in court today.
