Four Nigerian men and a Cambodian woman were charged by Phnom Penh Municipal Court yesterday for scamming a woman out of $1,000.

“The five accused were charged with fraud, while the four Nigerian men were also charged with illegally staying in Cambodia,” he said.

Two of the Nigerian men and the woman were arrested Tuesday in Kandal province. Through their confession, police arrested the two other accused Wednesday in Phnom Penh.

Police confiscated three motorbikes, four laptops, 13 mobile phones, 16 sim cards, six invalid Nigerian passports and several fake ATM cards.
