NagaWorld is supporting school children with study materials through a new initiative aimed at uplifting underprivileged students.
“NagaWorld believes that all children deserve to have good opportunities to pursue good education. With this in mind, NagaWorld developed the ‘Back-To School Programme’ to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by less privileged families in educating their children,” said Jarrod Reyes, managing director of corporate planning at NagaWorld.
“Our long-term goal is to provide deserving Cambodians equal opportunities to a proper education, so they will be able to seek better employment opportunities and enable them to have a secure future. We are contributing positively towards the country’s economic growth through good education. This is a part of NagaWorld’s ongoing commitment in helping Cambodia’s nation building initiative since our inception 22 years ago,” Mr Reyes said.
Chea Cheath, undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Education, said some families cannot afford all study materials needed by students and noted the programme will help address this issue.
“NagaWorld is setting an exemplary role for other companies and charitable organisations to follow. I also believe that this sponsorship will help develop the education sector of Cambodia even further.
This programme is in alignment with the policy of the ministry of education, youth and sport to provide good education opportunities to Cambodians in support of the global education goal of, education for all, all for education,” said Mr Cheath.
