Cambodia and China yesterday pledged to enhance legal sector cooperation to enhance the security of both countries.
The vow was made during a meeting between Prime Minister Hun Sen and Cao Jianming, the procurator-general of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China.
Kao Kim Huon, minister attached to the Prime Minister, told media after the meeting that both sides talked about cooperation on the legal matters, including transnational crimes, human trafficking and drugs.
He added that Mr Jianming was visiting Cambodia to enhance work between both sides after Cambodia and China signed a cooperation agreement in 2007.
“This cooperation will enhance security, social order and justice for society and people,” he said.
Mr Kim Huon said the cooperation will provide training, experience sharing and exchanges of information between both sides.
