The Council for the Development of Cambodia has approved 13 investment projects since October, accounting for combined investment capital of $40.45 million. Nine of the 13 projects belong to the garment and footwear industry. Other projects include factories that manufacture swimming pool components and construction materials.

Five projects are located in Phnom Penh, three in Svay Rieng, two in Sihanoukville, and one in Kampong Speu, Kandal and Takeo. Once the factories become operational, they are expected to provide more than 7,400 jobs.
