The 25th typhoon of the year, Kirogi, currently sweeping the Southern Vietnam Sea will soon arrive in the delta region of Tonle Mekong River, causing heavy rain and strong winds in the Kingdom.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology issued a statement on Saturday to inform people to be mindful, especially fishermen and boat passengers.
“The typhoon will deliver heavy rain to the country from November 19 to 21,” it read.
The provinces most likely to be affected are Phnom Penh, Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, Kandal, Takeo, Kampong Speu, Pursat, Battambang, and all coastal provinces.
The National Committee for Disaster Management reported last month that at least 70 people died and more than 100 people were injured due to natural disasters in the first nine months of this year.
