Four Vietnamese nationals were yesterday arrested by National Military Police over the possession of three kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in Phnom Penh.
Ly Chanthan, a military police officer with the anti-drug office unit, said officers from the capital and Svay Rieng province cooperated to raid the Saka Condo on Koh Pich.
“They are drug ringleaders who brought drugs for sale to drug users at casinos in Phnom Penh and near the Cambodian-Vietnamese borders,” he said.
“They were arrested while in possession of the drugs when our military police forces raided their rented condo.”
Mr Chanthan did not identify the suspects, but said 3.2 kilos of crystal methamphetamine were seized during the raid.
Heng Y, spokesman for the National Military Police, said that the four suspects were being detained at the municipal military police headquarters for questioning.
“Our military police experts are working on this case in order to search for other suspects,” he said. He added that the suspects would soon be sent to court.
