Seven gang members were yesterday charged over the killing of a 27-year-old at a pagoda last week in Kampong Chhnang province.
The murder took place last Wednesday at Trapaing Chhoum pagoda in Kampong Tralach district.
The suspects were arrested on Monday and Tuesday in various locations across the province.
Provincial police officer Hor Samoeun said the seven were accused of beating Heng Rayuth to death following an argument at a dance at the pagoda.
The row erupted after Mr Rayuth allegedly stepped on the feet of one of the gang member’s girlfriends.
“They were preliminarily accused by police with being accomplices to intentional murder,” Mr Samoeun said. “They have been sent to the provincial court for questioning.”
