Several provinces are expected to have heavy rain today in the wake of a tropical storm which has killed at least 27 people in Vietnam.

Meteorology Minister Lim Kean Hor said on Friday that heavy rain and winds would hit Phnom Penh and Kandal, Kampong Speu, Kampong Chang, Kampot, Kep, Preah Sihanouk, Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, Tbong Khmom and Kampong Thom provinces.

In Vietnam winds of up to 90km/h damaged more than 40,000 homes, knocked down electricity poles and uprooted trees.
