The Thansur Bokor Highland Resort is organising its fourth annual charity race, the Thansur Bokor International Half Marathon and Bike Race, which is set for this weekend on Bokor Mountain in Kampot province.
Raising cash for charity, the event will contribute to Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital with entertainment and live music provided by Ganzberge and Hang Meas.
Some familiar names were on the podium after last year’s races, with famed Cambodian runner Ma Viro grabbing the winner’s medal yet again in the 21-kilometre half marathon main event, clocking in at one hour, 24 minutes and 48 seconds, an improvement on his winning 2015 time of 1:27:9.
He was followed by Brendan Thomas, who finished a little less than a minute later.
In the women’s main event, Brit Jill Hamill placed first once more with Lois Jean Woodward of Wales garnering second place.
The event organiser suggests all participants should arrive the Race Point/Start Line in front of Thansur Bokor Highland Resort at 6:00am.
