The cabinet will hold a debate on Friday and is expected to approve the 2018 budget of $5.86 billion, an increase of 16.2 percent from last year’s $5.04 billion, according to a government document seen by Khmer Times yesterday.

The 2018 budget includes current expenditures of $3.8 billion and capital expenditure of $2.05 billion, according to the document.
More details of the budget for next year will be released after it has been approved by the legislative body in December.
The document also said Cambodia’s GDP was expected to be 6.9 percent for next year, the same as 2017, making the GDP value increase to $24.55 billion.
GDP per capita is said to be $1,568 in 2018, while the inflation rate is expected to be 3.5 percent for next year from 3.8 percent in 2017, said the report.
