Asia Foundation fellowships
Application deadline: Nov. 20
The Asia Foundation is calling on potential change-makers to apply for its 2018 fellowships, which comprises a two-week programme in Asia; another two weeks in the US; a workshop in Korea in April on Leadership Development; and finally a programme in Sri Lanka where fellows will engage with various development practitioners working in the fields of governance, women’s empowerment, economic opportunity expansion, environmental resilience, and promoting regional cooperation.
Study in Australia
Application deadline: Nov. 15 (Round 2)
Some 31 scholarships will be awarded by Monash University to international students who wish to pursue full-time undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degrees at a Monash campus in Australia. The aim is to offer them the opportunity to pursue their chosen career. Total average stipends are up to $50,000 based on a five-year degree.
Application deadline: Oct. 31
Cambodians aged 25 to 38 with good English proficiency are invited to apply for a four-month fellowship in the US. Selected candidates will learn to develop their leadership and management skills, including how to design a community development project and implement it when returning to Cambodia.
ASEAN CSR Fellowships
Application Deadline: Dec. 1
Citizens of the 10 Asean member states are invited to apply for ASEAN CSR Fellowships. The fellowships’ purpose is to develop human resources to serve responsible business in Southeast Asia, and to provide knowledge in addressing key regional issues in anti-corruption, environmental degradation and human rights for the private sector. Fellowships can be conducted in Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines.
Asia-Pacific Youth Exchange
Application deadline: Nov. 20
The Asia-Pacific Youth Exchange (APYE) is opening applications to all youth seeking to take part in a global exchange programme from January 9 to 20 in Manila, Philippines. Participants will learn essential skills for use in sustainable development initiatives while experiencing leadership development training, local immersion, an Asia-Pacific youth symposium, and a fellowship programme.
Development project contest
Application deadline: Nov. 10
The Vital Project Competition is organised to encourage Cambodian youth to convert their innovative ideas and skills into creative projects that use local resources to promote sustainable development in Battambang and Siem Reap provinces, benefiting local people’s lives. This project, under the main theme “Youth and National Pride”, seeks ideas contributing to “Revitalising Local Resources for Sustainable Development”. Each team is required to propose one project in one province.
Business Model Competition
Application deadline: By Nov. 1
The BMC Business Model Competition Cambodia is open to all university students and those who have graduated within the last five years. Entrants must form teams (maximum of three people) and apply under one of these five themes: in technology; medical/health; education; agriculture; and general business. The top two teams will compete in the finals of the Mekong Challenge in Bhutan on March 17, 2018.
