A resident spotted 30 unexploded rockets while excavating land in Pursat province’s Phnom Kravanh district to build a home on Sunday.

Phnom Kravanh district police chief Vong Saveth said that the rockets were found by Ang Homa, 52, while excavating land to build the home in Leach commune.

“The villager dug the soil for the house pillar and found those rockets, which was ammunition that might have been buried there,” he said.

“The rockets were mostly broken. However, the Cambodian Mine Action Centre has gone to inspect them, and no casualties resulted from the discovery.”

The rockets are being stored at the district police station for safe keeping before CMAC disposes of them.
