The Embassy of Malaysia held its first Deepavali, or Diwali, celebration at Rumah Malaysia (Malaysia House) on the weekend. Deepavali is celebrated by people of the Hindu faith, including Malaysia, where Hinduism is one of the major faiths and is widely practised in the country. Rumah Malaysia also saw the creation of a large “Kolam” made from coloured rice as a sign of living in harmony between man and nature.
