Thai police have deported three Cambodian teenagers guilty of illegal logging after they served brief terms in a rehabilitation centre.

The three were detained at a rehabilitation centre in Ubon Ratchathani province before being deported yesterday.

“Even though they had been logging illegally in Thailand they were not charged by the Thai court because they are under age,” said Touch Ra, chief of Cambodia-Thai relations at the Choam Sangam International Checkpoint in Oddar Meanchey province.

The teenagers, all from Trapaeng Prasath district in Oddar Meanchey province were arrested earlier this year.
