Ven Rathavong / Khmer Times Share:

Colonel Ho Vanny has been appointed the new police chief of Siem Reap province.
He had been deputy police chief to Major General Sort Nady, whose retirement was announced by the Interior Ministry last month.
“He is a good leader because he has been a police officer for a long time and has great experience,” said First Lieutenant Kheng Sela, a police officer in the province.
A royal decree issued on March 11 said four lieutenant generals, four major generals and 15 brigadier generals had been retired.
Among them were Maj. Gen. Nady, Lieutenant General Khieu Saman, director of the Interior Ministry’s anti-drug trafficking department, and Lieutenant General Mak Sam Ol, a former bodyguard of Prime Minister Hun Sen.
The official inauguration ceremony for the new appointees will take place tomorrow.
