Five suspected drug traffickers, including three Vietnamese nationals and two Cambodians, were arrested by police on Tuesday afternoon in Phnom Penh.
Bun Kosal, a Russey Keo district police officer, said the five suspects were arrested at about 4pm after police raided two rented houses located in Svay Park commune.
“They were arrested while they were smoking drugs inside their rented houses,” he said. “After their arrests, police seized a total of 59 small packages of crystal methamphetamine, two scales and other drug related materials.”
Mr Kosal added that police tested the suspects’ urine, which all came back positive for drug use.
The five remain at Russey Keo police station for further questioning, he said.
The suspects were identified as Nguven Yainghong, 17, Din Yaingbakin, 17, Din Yaingdim, 22, Meas Meth, 26, and Noun Sary, 28.
