The Indian community in Phnom Penh along with the Embassy of India hosted a cleanliness drive called “Swachhta Hi Seva” at Freedom Park on Saturday and placed a statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the site.  On October 2, 2014, the Swachh Bharat (or clean India) mission was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in India. The mass movement sought to create a clean India. During the last three years India has witnessed an historical journey along the path of cleanliness.

Embassy of India colleagues and the Indian community get a briefing before the campaign started.
