Three construction workers were yesterday arrested by Por Senchey district police after posting their drug smoking activities on their Facebook pages, and that of police.

Touch Vibol, a Por Senchey district police officer, identified the suspects as Choeun Chanthoeun, 18, Pang Pongrith, 30, and Chea Odoum, 20.

They were arrested yesterday in Por Senchey district.

Mr Vibol said that on the morning of August 30, the three posted photos and video clips of themselves smoking drugs on their Facebook.

Their photos and video clips were viewed, watched, commented on and shared many times, Mr Vibol said.

Mr Vibol said later that same day, the suspects sent their photos to a police officer’s Facebook account, leading to an investigation to discover their whereabouts.

“They smoked drugs and posted their photos on Facebook,” he said. “Besides this, they sent the photos and the video clips of their drug smoking to our police officer’s Facebook account. They seemed to not be afraid of police.”

Mr Vibol said police were able to track down and arrest the trio and have accused them of drug use.

The suspects are due in court today.
