The Ballet Philippines put on a stunning show at the Chaktomuk Conference Hall last Saturday as part of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Cambodia.
The Filipino community as well as local dignitaries and guests watched a performance titled “Master Pieces: Celebrating the Tapestry of Filipino Culture and Friendship”, a performance that deserved the standing ovation it received.
The event was organised by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts of the Philippines, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Cambodia.
Ballet Philippines is the preeminent professional classical and contemporary dance company in the Philippines. It is widely recognised as a cornerstone of contemporary Filipino identity.
The dance company put on the type of show rarely seen in Cambodia, but one which the audience loved.
The show was free of charge and about 300 seats were reserved for Filipinos and their Cambodian friends.
