Man held at border with 2kg of meth

Stung Treng provincial police have arrested a Lao man crossing the border with more than two kilos of methamphetamine.

Colonel Kong Kimsrun said Pheng Phanangor, 50, was arrested on Thursday in Siem Pang district.

“The suspect confessed that he was delivering the drugs, and after crossing border, that he was to meet guys to receive the drugs,” Col Kimsrun said.

Col Kimsrun said two packages of methamphetamine, weighing a total of 2.12 kilograms, were confiscated.

Mr Phanangor was due to make his first court appearance yesterday evening.
