Two Nigerians and three Cambodians have been arrested on allegations of trafficking more than half a kilo of methamphetamine in Phnom Penh.
Interior Ministry police officer Suon Piseth said one Nigerian man was arrested on Wednesday when police raided his rented house in Chroy Changvar commune. Police confiscated the drugs from him.
Based on suspect’s answers, police arrested the other Nigerian and the Cambodians at a rented house in Chom Chao commune later the same day.
Police confiscated another two small packages of crystal methamphetamine and related drug materials from their house.
“They are being detained for questioning and further investigation,” Mr Piseth said. “They will be sent to Phnom Penh Municipal Court after our police have completed their investigation.”
The five, whose names have not been released, have been accused by police of drug trafficking.
