Police arrested a family of four living illegally in a single room in a guesthouse in Ratanakkiri province’s Banlung town yesterday morning.
Deputy police chief Pril Samnang said the four Vietnamese nationals were Pouy Ichat, 32, her husband Rochom Bit, 32, and their two daughters aged 5 and 13.
“The police checked the guest room and found the family overstayed their visas,” Mr Samnang said.
According to local media, the family confessed they entered Cambodia illegally in 2015, then moved to Thailand to be able to move to a third country, but were not successful.
They intended to move back to their home country.
Police are preparing to send them back home.
