This is a unique opportunity to pursue a master’s degree at a UK university, develop yourself professionally and academically, experience UK culture, and build positive relationships and network within the UK.

Sustainable development course

Course starts: Aug. 18


This 12-week course on Environmental Studies offered by the University of Queensland is designed to teach international students key concepts of sustainability, science and development policy, and help them understand how leaders can work to achieve and apply the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Yamada Foundation Scholarship

Application deadline: Dec. 1


To privately finance international students to study in Japan, the Yamada Foundation Scholarship is open to non-Japanese applicants under 35 years of age. They can apply for undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral programmes at Saitama University. Candidates are required to have strong proficiency in English.

Application writing

Course starts: Sept. 13


A five-week free online course, “English at Work in Asia: Job Applications, CVs and Cover Letters,” launched by Hong Kong Polytechnic University, aims to provide both native and non-native speakers of English with an opportunity to learn from professionals about how to design effective CVs, résumés and cover letters and how to create a compelling online presence.

TED Fellows Programme 2018

Application deadline: Sept. 10


Potential fellows who can demonstrate remarkable achievement, strength of character and problem-solving skills applicable to global issues will be selected to take part in a TED conference. Participants will meet, exchange ideas and connect with the larger TED community and give their own TED Talk.


Writing contest

Deadline: Aug. 18


The “Integrity Anecdote” writing contest is hosted by International Transparency Cambodia with the aim of encouraging young people to express their ideas and share their experiences in an effort to fight corruption. The successful applicants will be selected based 75% on content, originality and format, and 25% on number of Facebook “Likes.”

Model Prime Ministerial Debate 2

Application deadline: Aug. 24


The Model Prime Ministerial Debate 2, organized by the U.S. Ambassador’s Youth Council, is a debate competition modeled on the U.S. presidential debates aimed at engaging university students in a debating culture, boosting youth awareness of social issues, and proposing policies and solutions to deal with those issues.
