Three Nigerians are facing deportation after they were arrested yesterday in Phnom Penh for staying in the country illegally.

Major General Ouk Heisela, chief investigator at the Interior Ministry’s immigration department, said his officials are questioning the trio.

He said two had no passports, while the third suspect did, but with an expired visa.

The three were arrested in Tuol Tom Poung 2 commune.

“Only one had a visa, but had overstayed. We will deport all three of them,” Maj Gen Heisela said, adding that police had already informed their Nigerian counterparts of the arrests.

He said the trio will be deported as soon as they have the money to buy plane tickets themselves.
