The Cambodia National Rescue Party yesterday revealed what its new banners will look like following a ban on any imagery of former leader Sam Rainsy.

The government recently amended the Law on Political Parties to ban parties from using any imagery or voice recordings of convicts, effectively ending Mr Rainsy’s political career as he remains in exile in France due to a number of convictions and court cases against him.

After a meeting yesterday, CNRP vice president Eng Chhay Eang told reporters that the well-known banner of Mr Rainsy and CNRP leader Kem Sokha holding hands will be changed by September 30 across the country.

The image of the two leaders holding hands will be replaced by the slogan “United Rescue Our Nation”, Mr Chhay Eang said, adding the party’s sunrise logo would remain on the right side of the banner.
