Angkor Golf Resort has once again put Cambodia on the international golfing map after bagging multiple awards in the inaugural Service Excellence Awards.

The high-end golf course in Siem Reap took home four awards, one shy of the five awards copped by top- performer Thai Country Club of Thailand.

Two of the awards went to Director of Golf David Baron, who was adjudged as the Golf Retail Manager of the Year and Golf Manager of the Year. The team headed by Socheat Mey was named as the Golf Operations Team of the Year.

Angkor Golf Resort, as a whole, received the Bronze Flag.

“We are delighted with these Awards which are a credit to our full team and the continued support we receive from 59club Asia. The analytics, training and guest feedback we receive is second to none. The data provided enables us to highlight specific areas for improvement and take the necessary steps to enhance our guest experience. However, the journey doesn’t stop here,” Baron said.

“We look forward to raising the bar further and continuing our progress with 59club Asia,” he added.

Organised by 59club Asia, the Excellence Service Awards recognises the most successful golf venues across Asia in terms of sales performance, staff attitude, internal processes and facility standards. Those vying for the awards include some of the most well-known venues in the region.

The awards recognise the top-performing Golf Sales Team, Golf Sales Manager, Golf Operations Team, among others. Gold, Silver & Bronze service excellence flags are also awarded to venues that have delivered the most consistent golf experiences throughout 2019.

59club Asia touts itself as the ‘market leader providing bespoke mystery shopper performance measurement programs for the golf, leisure, spa, events, F&B and hotel industries’. Established in the United Kingdom in 2017, it expanded into Asia two years ago.

The awards from 59club Asia are the latest recognition Angkor Golf Resort received on the international stage.

Last year, the 18-hole course designed by British golfing legend Nick Faldo received the ‘Best Golf Course in Cambodia’ award from the Asia Golf Awards for the fourth time. This year, it was included in the list of ‘Top 100 Golf Courses in the World’.

Angkor Golf Resort is also in the running for the World Golf Awards 2020, the winners of which will be announced at the end of October.
