Cambodia’s COVID-19 situation has shown remarkable progress with zero new cases reported since April 12 and the last remaining victim being discharged from hospital Friday.
The Ministry of Health in a statement issued this morning said that the last COVID-19 positive victim was successfully treated and discharged from the Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital.
The last recovered case is a 36-year-old woman from Banteay Meanchey province. She was transferred from the provincial hospital to Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh on May 8. She was tested positive on March 28.
With the discharge of this patient, Cambodia had up to April 12, registered 122 COVID-19 positive cases and all have been successfully treated and discharged from various hospitals.
Those infected were mostly foreigners comprising 40 French, 13 Malaysians, five British, three Chinese, three Vietnamese, two Americans, two Indonesians, two Canadians, and one Belgian.
51 Cambodians were among those who were infected. The infected were discovered in 13 provinces throughout the country.
