Cambodia is set to play Iran in the 3rd week of October for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification.
Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq.com has reported that Iran will first play Hong Kong on October 8 and will travel to Cambodia eight days later.
Iran was scheduled to host Hong Kong on March 26 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium and play Cambodia five days later.
However, the spread of COVID-19 pandemic and global travel restrictions put paid to the original dates.
Iran sits third in Group C five points behind Iraq.
Cambodia is at the bottom of Group C which comprises five nations, namely Iraq which is topping the table with 11 points from five games followed by Bahrain with nine points from five games, Iran with six points from four games, Hong Kong with five points from five games and Cambodia with a single point from five games.
