China, through the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), today donated anti-epidemic medical supplies to Cambodia to assist in the nation’s fight against the coronavirus.
The handover ceremony was presided by Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn and Chinese Ambassador Wang Wentian at the Council of Ministers this morning.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Sokhonn said the donations included surgical masks, medical equipment and pharmaceutical drugs – all of which approximately cost $160,000. The donations will be distributed to civil society organisations across the Kingdom to help in the mission to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The aid is part of the Silk Road Community Building Initiative, which was launched by the China NGO Network for International Exchanges in April 2019 at the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
