State-run Cambodia Post generated revenues of total $11 million in 2019, according to the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication (MPT). This represents a drop on the $13.81 million revenue total in 2018.

The issue of 43 postal service licences by the MPT in 2019 to private companies, such as DHL, TNT, UPS, and U Express, has broken the state-run company’s monopoly and contributed to the decrease.

Meas Po, the ministry’s under-secretary of state, gave an overview of the postal and domestic transportation company’s performance earlier this week.

This included figures for both incoming and outgoing postal package handling, which were 554,524 and 567,341 respectively.

Cambodia Post has distribution partners in 192 countries and offers a range of postal services, including express delivery and package tracking. Canadia Bank is a 50 percent shareholder, followed by Fullerton Bank with 45 percent and Cambodia Post with 5 percent.
