Cambodian Mine Action Centre experts have today inspected the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle which crashed in Koh Kong province on Wednesday and confirmed that there were no explosives.
Heng Ratana, CMAC director general, said the experts cooperated with the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and conducted a security check on the large drone in the village of Smach, Koh Sdach commune, Kiri Sakor district.
“This is a large-scale drone landing using a parachute,” he said.
A Kiri Sakor district police said the drone was cut in pieces and transported to the Ministry of National Defense for further investigation on its nature and source.
According to the provincial police chief, Brigadier General Samkhit Vien, the drone crashed near the Chinese-owned Union Development Group project of Dara Sakor.
