Owners of the collapsed building arrested for questioning

The owners of the collapsed building in Kep province were arrested today for questioning, said provincial police chief Brigadier General Ben Dara.

Police identified the under construction building owners as Ak Sarun, and his wife, Chhiv Sothy who live in Sihanouk City, Sihanouk province.

Bri Gen Dara said the duo had been arrested following the order from National Police Commissioner General Neth Savoeun.

“We detained them at the police station and will soon send them to the provincial court for further questioning,” he said.

National Police Commissioner General Neth Savoeun yesterday ordered the authorities to search for those who linked to the construction site, including the building owner, contractors and construction workers in order to identify who will be responsible for the incident.

Last night, the provincial authorities detained man who was known to be a supervisor at the construction site for questioning but has yet to yet to beidentified
