England suffer a Test beating

NOTTINGHAM South Africa’s cricketers last night trounced England by 340 runs in the second Test at Trent Bridge to level the four-match series 1-1.

Set a record 474 to win, England lost their last five wickets for just 11 runs and were skittled out for 133, with all-rounder Vernon Philander and spinner Keshav Maharaj each taking three wickets.

The third Test starts at The Oval next week.
