Hungarian President János Áder will pay his first official visit to the Kingdom on Sunday to enhance bilateral relations and strengthen friendship between the two countries.
In a statement issued today, Foreign Affairs Ministry said Mr János Áder and his wife will pay a State Visit to Cambodia from 27-30 October, at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni.
During his visit, Mr János Áder will have a Royal audience with His Majesty at the Royal Palace, and will pay separate courtesy calls on Senate President Say Chhum, and National Assembly president Heng Samrin.
Mr János Áder will also have a meeting with Prime Minister Hun Sen during which various fields of bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of common interest will be discussed.
Mr Áder and his spouse will also visit temples in the Angkor Archeological Park and some landmarks in Siem Reap province.
“The president’s first visit to Cambodia will mark an important milestone in Cambodia-Hungary bilateral relations and further reinforce the long-standing bonds of friendship and solidarity as well as the increase in scope and depth of cooperation between the two countries,” the ministry said.
The Hungarian government last week pledged that it will support the Kingdom’s effort to preserve the Everything-but-arms trade status during Prime Minister Hun Sen’s five-day visit to Europe.
