Annual Children’s Art Contest at natural venue delights parents too

LAST Saturday was a day of joy and creativity for many children as One Park hosted its Annual Children’s Art Contest at its location. The poolside terrace of One Park has become a natural venue for many parents to discover their children’s drawing talent.

The programme is spearheaded by One Park General Manager Demian Jung, along with Phnom Penh-based artist Francis Natividad.

With 15 years of experience in the arts up his sleeves, Mr Francis took up his role as an inspirational guide to the young candidates. In his opening speech, he hoped children in the city who have learnt about the competition at One Park held on sunny Saturdays would turn up for any interest in the arts.

“I hope this event will encourage children to explore art, to discover and enhance their skills,” said visual artist Francis.

Many parents believe that allowing kids to expose their ability in public events will build their soft skills. The belief also applies to Som Sovann, father of two children (pic right) who joined the drawing competition. He said no matter how busy he is, taking his children there to expose their talent is still his priority.

Sitting on the grass watching his kids having fun with others their age, Mr Sovann shared his opinion with a smile: “I think it is an event for my children to expose their talent in drawing and it’s a chance to meet other children so they can build their skills in communication.”

All the little artists were given an hour to complete their drawings – with no topic given, thus giving children the freedom to portray their creativity on paper or canvas.

Drawing activity aside, present were also invited to a market fair featuring a bevy of entrepreneurs and leading brands on exhibition in the fair. The attendees also got a chance to take a peek at the luxurious living offered by One Park with an exclusive tour of its showrooms which will start welcoming guests in November 2019.

Coming with two daughters, Chan Na said it was great to have her kids exposing their drawing skill in this comfortable atmosphere. One Park’s architecture is a combination of modern living lifestyle and nature as the poolside terrace is full of greenery.

“Here, it has good atmosphere and a very nice view. Plus, the location makes me want to live here,” she quipped.

She added that the condominium area is draped with the trimmings of nature, giving it a refreshing atmosphere to unwind.
