Socialites, diplomats and VIPs from the Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Cambodia gathered in Phnom Penh’s Sofitel on Wednesday October 2nd 2019 to celebrate the South Korea’s National Foundation Day. This year, an Agri-Food Korea 2019 expo laid on a spread fit for the esteemed crowd, lavishing the tables with traditional Korean cuisine and beverages. From Korean fried chicken to soju cocktails, the event was laden with a wide range Korean agricultural products – some of which are currently sold in Cambodia, while others could be making their way here very soon. It was an evening heralded with much fanfare, as rousing speeches highlighting the value of cooperation between the two countries followed both national anthems before the crowd descended upon the buffet tables to feast themselves on the culinary delights of Korea. For one night, if nothing more, cooperation tasted pretty sweet.
