Floods force closure of National Road 5 in Poipet

Banteay Meanchey Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport yesterday said it will temporarily close National Road 5 between Km 394-396 due to the flood.

In an announcement dated September 27, Kim Sovann, provincial chief of department of Public Works and Transport pointed on the collapse of a dam, located on National Road 5 between Km 394-396 in O’Kayorn Village, Nimith Village, Poipet City.

Mr Sovann said due to the collapse of the Okayan Dam and flooding, authorities will temporarily suspend traffic along the section of the highway until the situation improves.
