National Assembly President Heng Samrin said that he wanted to see the Kingdom further foster good cooperation with Kazakhstan, especially diplomatic ties.
Mr Samrin made his speech on Monday during a sideline meeting with Kazakhstan parliament president Nurlan Nigmatulin.
“Cambodia and Kazakhstan could become two important countries that can serve as a bridge in making a link between ASEAN and Eurasian countries’ economy,” Mr Samrin said.
Mr Samrin said that he wanted to see good cooperation between Cambodia and Kazakhstan, especially diplomatic ties, investment, tourism and culture.
Mr Samrin on Sunday departed the Kingdom to attend the fourth Meeting of Speakers of the Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments in Kazakhstan.
The event, themed “Greater Eurasia: Dialogue, Trust and Partnership”, is held from Monday till today in Nur-Sultan city.
Mr Nigmatulin thanked Mr Samrin for attending the fourth Meeting of Speaker for the Eurasian Countries.
“The attendance by Samdech [Heng Samrin] is historical and the meeting will succeed,” Mr Nigmatulin said in the statement.
Mr Nigmatulin will attend the 13th Asia-Europe Summit in Cambodia next year.
