Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith today reaffirmed his commitment to resolve border issues during a courtesy call on Say Chhum, acting head of State of Cambodia as he concluded a two-day official visit in the kingdom.
Speaking through a translator, Mr Sisoulith told Mr Chhum during the meeting that he will do his best to transform the border of both countries into a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
Mr Sisoulith added that the remaining issues are now handed over to the foreign ministries of both countries and joint border commission in order to prevent confrontation between the armed forces.
Mr Chhum has expressed his appreciation for the good relations and cooperation between the two countries, noting that the friendship will brings great benefits to both peoples and countries at present and in the future.
On Thursday, Mr Sisoulith held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Hun Sen, and the two presided over the signing of several documents and join press releases.
While staying in Phnom Penh, Mr Sisoulith has laid wreathes at the Independence Monument and paid tribute at the Royal Memorial Statue of the Late King Father of Cambodia. He also met with President of the National Assembly Heng Samrin.
