Top 11 Cambodian Students visited Huawei HQ under “Seeds for the Future Program”

First Cambodia student delegation received ICT training course in Huawei HQ ShenZhen

Top11 Cambodian students selected by Huawei Technologies (Cambodia) Co.,Ltd (“Huawei”) and Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (“UYFC”) successfully completed the two weeks study course in China. This was the first time that Huawei has launched social welfare “Seeds for the Future” program in Cambodia.

H.E Khek Caimealy Sisoda Ambassador of Cambodia met with Cambodia student delegation of “Huawei Seeds for the Future Program”. During the meeting, the Ambassador gave a full of praise for Huawei on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project. “Huawei Seeds for the Future Program” helps to cultivate Cambodia Information and Communications Technology (ICT) talent as well as broaden cultural perspective and also provide good start for their career. In addition, this will deepen mutual friendship between China-Cambodia. Last but not least, the Ambassador also sent her best wish to “Huawei Seeds for the Future” program.

“The Seeds for the Future Program” is a part of CSR flagship program that sponsored by global ICT leader Huawei. Established in 2008, the program has been implemented in 67 countries and regions across five continents, benefiting over 20,000 students from 200 universities. More than 2,000 university students from around the world have taken a study trip to the Huawei headquarters.

Ly Hong, 18 year-old, fluent Chinese language speaking, expressed her feeling that “Although the climate between Phnom Penh and Beijing is a large disparity, I love Chinese foods, learning environment, Chinese course, now I’m eager to involve the training course in Huawei HQ Shenzhen. I will hold on this golden opportunity, study hard, improve myself, and make a contribution to my own country and society.”

Sam Kakada the representative of Cambodia student delegation said: “We learned the latest ICT knowledge at Huawei HQ such as: 5G, LTE, cloud computing etc., Base on the training that Huawei provided we have enhanced our abilities to adapt to the ICT industry. In conclusion, I hope the training course will be longer, I found out I really love and enjoy the life there.”

“This is my first time to China to experience Chinese culture! It was AMAZING! I don’t know how to describe this feeling. In short, I appreciated Huawei for this great opportunity, I will continuous on study Chinese and ICT knowledge it was such an unforgettable adventure here! Oh! I do love Chinese food!” says Chheng Sovann,19, a second year student of UYFC.

“I have a strong passion in IT major since I was young. This training is what I’m looking for! I am able to study the cutting-edge technologies and put into the practice at the most advance labs of Huawei with Huawei ICT experts, bridging the gap between theory and practice, and gain more benefits” said Vin Daramuny,19, IT student in UYFC.

November,2016, Huawei’s social welfare above was donated to Cambodia during the meeting between Huawei’s Asia-Pacific President Mr. Ly Jin Ge and Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Sen. On 8th December while the meeting with Huawei Southeast Asia CEO David Sun at the Peace Palace, Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Sen highly appreciated “Seeds for the Future” project which helping Cambodia to train more local ICT talent and improve the technical ability of Cambodia youth, make Cambodian youth’s dreams come true.

On January, next year Huawei will expand the cooperation with UYFC and other education institutes select outstanding college students to join the ICT study trip in China through the poster and Facebook etc. There will be the next Cambodia Steve Jobs or Jack Mar in these CSR program, who knows!
