The partnership was announced on Monday by the US law firm.

CRBC was chosen to undertake the ambitious expressway project that will connect the Kingdom’s capital with the nation’s only deep-sea port, located in Sihanoukville. Construction of the 190-kilometre, four-lane thoroughfare began in March.

Hunton Andrews Kurth – a global law firm representing project lenders, investors, developers, sponsors and governments on public-private partnership transactions – will be providing financial advice to the Chinese developer.

Vasim Sorya, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, told Khmer Times last week that construction of the expressway is progressing as planned.

He said the expressway will be completed before the end of 2022 in time for an Asean summit that will be held in Preah Sihanouk province.

Since 2001, CRBC has carried out various other infrastructure projects in Cambodia, including the construction of more than 12 highways (five of which are currently in progress) and several bridges, according to the company’s website.
