Cambodia’s national football team has won praise and plaudits from Prime Minister Hun Sen after their victorious showing in last Thursday’s match against Pakistan.
Reacting after Cambodia’s 2-0 win in their FIFA Qatar 2022 World Cup & Asian Cup 2023 First Round qualification opener at Phnom Penh’s Olympic Stadium last Thursday, the PM said he hoped the Angkor Warriors would prevail in tomorrow’s second leg.
“Congratulations to the Cambodian national football team who got the victory in the match with Pakistan at the National Stadium in Phnom Penh, reads the post on the PM’s official Facebook page.
“Thank you for all the people who showed their support, especially the [youth] who joined to watch at the stadium. Wish the football selection of Cambodia gets success in the next game,” he added.
Cambodia left it late on Thursday as Sieng Chanthea and Kouch Sokumpheak gave the Angkor Warriors a 2-0 win and the upper hand ahead of tomorrow’s away leg in Doha, Qatar.
